The highly anticipated hosting of Nigeria Media Nite- Out Award which was earlier scheduled to host in Zamfara State has been rescheduled to Lagos State.

According to the Director of Media and  publicity of the prestigious award, Mr Ajibade Alabi, the award which is in it's 15th edition will now be hosted at Lagos Airport Hotel, Awolowo road, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to Ajibade; "Initially we have programmed ourselves towards July for the award in Zamfara State, where we intend to go with the winners and some selected top Journalists and Editors who will also tour Zamfara State to inspect the State Government's projects.

"Despite this new development, the glitz, glamour and paparazzi that the award is associated with will not be taken away."

The organizers however informed that if the security situation of the country improves the highly octane event could be moved to the North for next year edition.

Known for his glamorous gathering, having fail to hold last year due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, this year's edition which is in its 15th edition will be acknowledging journalists, businessmen and politicians for their dexterity and dedication, as well as their outstanding contributions to their various fields.

Notably among the awardees is Governor Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle (MON) of Zamfara State. He will be receiving an award of the Media Friendly Governor of the Year at the glamorous event.

Governor Matawalle will be honored with this award due to his cordial relationship  with the media. The Governor will also use the medium to address the press on his developmental strategies and achievements in Zamfara State since he assumed the office in 2019.

Others to be honored includes, Borno State Governor, top Northern politicians, Ahmed Sani Yerima, Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello, State of Osun Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, Governors of Cross Rivers and Kano respectively; Ben Ayade,  Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR and a host of other prominent Nigerians.

Prior to an invitation extended to His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Zamfara state Mahdi Aliyu Gusau by the state House of Assembly last week, to appear before it, to explain for his non sympathetic attitudes of organizing a political rally in the state last Month at the time the whole state was thrown into mourning of 40 people killed by some  heartless bandits, the Deputy Governor was advised  by several well wishers and allies never to organize the rally at that material time, as it wasn't appropriate

However, now realizing the mistakes he made, the Deputy Governor Mahdi is tilting his inhumane acts to the recent order by the Abuja Federal High Court to stop his alleged impeachment process by the State House of Assembly as an excuse of not honoring the independent Assembly invitation.

A source at the Zamfara state House of Assembly was quoted to have said that, " The Deputy Governor should at this time suppose to note that, the State House of Assembly has no any aggressive intention towards the Deputy Governor HE. Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, adding that the current Commissioner of Police  was invited by the same Assembly and without any intimidation, the Police Boss appeared before the State Assembly on the same issuesm, because according to the source the Police Commissioner has nothing to hide but rather advice the state Assembly with some highlights to avert future  happening. Therefore, Mahdi the Deputy Governor Should not be afraid to appear before the state Assembly to clear himself: " the source emphasized.

Recall that Mahdi the Deputy Governor of Zamfara state organized a political rally sometime last month at the period the state government declared three days mourning to commemorate the death of the 40 people killed by heartless bandits in the state.

Similarly, Zamfara state Speaker Hon. Nasiru Magarya  advises the State Deputy Governor Mahdi to respect the state legislature to appear in person for  interaction and should not as  a second in Command  entertain any fear to clear himself.

The hunters are to provide dedicated protection to farmers who cultivate crops in outskirts of Jere, where over 70 farmers were killed in November 2020 as well as farms in parts of Maiduguri metropolis, Konduga and Mafa Local Government Areas.

Zulum has since 2019, engaged the services of thousands of hunters drawn from different parts of northern Nigeria, to join volunteers in the civilian JTF and vigilantes. The Governor also increased and automated monthly allowances of all volunteers, provided kits, surveillance tools and allocated hundreds of vehicles to units in all of Borno’s 27 local government areas.

Induction of the latest 1,000 addition of hunters was done at Gongulong ward, weeks after each of them completed security vetting by the DSS and the military. The event was attended by Secretary to Borno state Government, Usman Jidda Shuwa, head of service, Barr. Simon Malgwi, commissioners and other government officials.

"Our local hunters have become part of our success story because of their active involvement in trying to address the security challenges we have been facing in the state. This largely prompted us to engage in the recruitment of more hunters to assist our gallant military in their undeniable and commendable efforts to end the insurgency” Zulum said.

In a welcome address, member representing Jere at the House of Representatives, Satomi Ahmed, lauded Zulum for his foresight and determination to secure lives and property of Borno people.

Nigeria’s super cop, Abba Kyari has revealed his own side of the story on Husppupi; below is his response as posted in his Facebook page.

Friends: Abbas who we later came to know as Hushpuppi called our office about 2-years ago that somebody in Nigeria Seriously threatened to kill his Family here in Nigeria and he sent the person’s Phone number and pleaded we take action before the Person attacks his family.

We traced and arrested the Suspect and after investigations we discovered there wasn’t an actual threat to anyone’s life And they are long time friends who have money issues between them hence we released the Suspect on bail to go and he was not taken to any jail.

Nobody demanded for a kobo from Abbas Hushpuppi. Our focus was to Save people’s lives that were purported to have been threatened.

Later, he saw some of my Native Clothes and Caps on my social media page and he said he likes them and he was connected to the person selling the clothes and he sent about N300k directly to the person’s account. The Native Clothes and Caps (5 sets) were brought to our office and He sent somebody to Collect them in our office.

Nobody demanded any money from Abbas Hushpuppi and nobody collected any money from him. We responded to a distress call he made on threat to his family and released the Suspect when we discovered there was no life threat from the Suspect. This is the true story. Vincent is alive, he can be contacted.

For those who are celebrating that this is an indictment on us and mentioning some fictitious Big Money, They will be disappointed once again as our hands are clean and our record of Service for 2 decades is open for everybody to See. They will continue seeing us serving our father land and we will Continue responding to ALL distress Calls from ALL Nigerians provided they are life threatening.

For Good Nigerians who appreciate our Service please don’t worry as our hands are clean and they should please not respond to those celebrating and creating many false Narratives without any Evidence. We are used to such types of people and false newsmakers and distributors.

Thank you all and GOD bless Nigeria.

Nigerian Internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas popularly known as ‘Hushpuppi’ who recently pleaded guilty in the United States, has narrated how he bribed Nigeria’s celebrated police chief Abba Kyari, Peoples Gazette reports.

Mr Abbas and his co-conspirators are currently under-going investigation by the U.S. Federal authorities after their syndicate was busted in Dubai, New York and other top cities last June.

Officials said in court filings that Mr Abbas disclosed during interrogation that he paid bribes to Mr Kyari, a deputy police commissioner, to have one of his rivals arrested and jailed in Nigeria following a dispute over a $1.1 million dupe of a Qatari businessperson.

Mr Kyari did not immediately return calls and messages seeking his response to Mr Abbas’ claims when reached by The Publication on Thursday morning.

Mr Abbas asked Mr Kyari to arrest and jail a fellow fraudster Kelly Chibuzor Vincent after both were locked in a dispute presumably over how to share the $1.1 million loot received from the Qatari businessperson. Mr Vincent subsequently contacted the victim and informed them that they were being scammed by a syndicate involving him and Mr Abbas.

This elicited anger from Mr Abbas, who contacted Mr Kyari to arrest and jail his rival over the dispute. Mr Abbas said Mr Kyari sent pictures of Mr Vincent in jail and subsequently sent his bank account number to Mr Abbas to which a wire transfer should be made having done a good job as sent by Mr Abbas.

“Court documents outline a dispute among members of the conspiracy, which allegedly prompted Vincent to contact the victim and claim that Abbas and Juma were engaged in fraud. After this contact, Abbas allegedly arranged to have Vincent jailed in Nigeria by Abba Alhaji Kyari, 46, of Nigeria.

“According to the affidavit, Kyari is a highly decorated deputy commissioner of the Nigeria Police Force who is alleged to have arranged for Vincent to be arrested and jailed at Abbas’ behest, and then sent Abbas photographs of Vincent after his arrest. Kyari also allegedly sent Abbas bank account details for an account into which Abbas could deposit payment for Vincent’s arrest and imprisonment,” U.S. Justice department said in a statement.

After the $1.1 million fraud was successful, Mr Abbas spent $230,000 on a watch and also bribed officials at St. Kitts and Nevis for his citizenship of that island country.

“Approximately $230,000 of the stolen funds allegedly were used to purchase a Richard Mille RM11-03 watch, which was hand delivered to Abbas in Dubai and subsequently appeared in Hushpuppi’s social media posts.

“Other illicit proceeds from the scheme were allegedly converted into cashier’s checks, including $50,000 in checks that were used by Abbas and a co-conspirator to fraudulently acquire a St. Christopher and Nevis citizenship, as well as a passport for Abbas obtained by creating a false marriage certificate and then bribing a government official in St. Kitts,” officials said.

Mr Abbas pleaded guilty to multimillion-dollar fraud earlier this month and faces up to 20 years in jail. He will be sentenced in the coming weeks and will forfeit some of his assets and his rights to appeal while also paying restitution to victims of his years-long fraud.
